First Marathon Made Easy Program
Today is the first day of using the “First Marathon Made Easy” program. I have run three marathon before (I was currently training for one when the program came out).
I had been debating on buying some Treadmill Trainer workouts and couldn’t make up my mind when the “First Marathon Made Easy” was made available. The program is must!!

I am not training for another marathon right not but the Treadmill Trainer workouts included are awesome and you can follow the calendar/sequence even if you are not training for a marathon—just adjust the miles of your long runs. I think this plan will help me establish a great base–so when I do start adding on the miles, it will be a breeze…my next marathon will probably be next Fall.
Today, I used Treadmill Trainer Marathon Interval 1. The calendar calls for just doing TT Marathon Interval 1.1 for the first week. It is technically only 35 mins but if you push yourself—you will feel it. Yuri says you can use the TTs outside but for me, I have to use the treamill. I cant lie when I am using a treadmill. This workout called for 2 mins intervals at your 5k pace and I made sure I ran at my PR 5k race (9:30 min miles). Right now, I average 11:30-12 min miles on my Sat long runs. So, the treadmill keeps me honest and helps me push myself. Who knows–maybe I will hit a new PR on my 5k races if I follow this program. I would love to break 27 mins in a 5k race.
Has anyone else tried the “First Marathon Made Easy Program”? If so, I would like to hear your stories. It truly is Maybe someone is using the program like me—not for their first marathon but to train more effectively for their next one.
Next week’s workout looks tough (TT Marathon Interval 1.2)–but I will give it my best shot!

Well done Christie and thanks for posting your progress. I have a pretty good feeling that you’ll hit your 5k PR – especially using the interval workouts in the FMME program.
Keep up the great work and keep us posted.
