How do these intervals work their magic?
They specifically enable fat burning processes becuase of their short duration. Depending on the interval section, the work intervals last either 10 or 20 seconds, which isn't enough time for your muscles to pump out lactic acid.
And that's a favourable thing because lactic acid presence in the muscle "switches off" a cascade of enzymatic pathways that allows your cells to use fat for fuel.
